I want my mommy!
I want to see my mami’s face
I want to hear my mami’s voice
I want to hug my mami
I want my kiss my mami
I want to tell my mami over and over again how much I love her
seriously… I’m missing my mami like crazy 😦
Al-fatihah to my mami
if you’re on my fb list, you’d know this news already – well, I supposed?
anyway, just to let you know, the final result was out on the 27th Oct 2011
and… things went well and…
I got a distinction!!!
w00t!! Alhamdulillah, all that hard work paid off 😉
so I’m graduating, obtaining Master of Science, MSc with Distinction
my graduation is in December
if nothing goes wrong, I’d be going to my graduation 😉
if you’re wondering what’s next; well… I’m still thinking about it
I’ve already got a PhD offer that I’ve already deferred for 2 years; I was offered to do PhD right after my bachelor degree last year but since I wasn’t sure about it, I opted to do MSc which I’ve just completed 😉
I might want to try applying for other uni which I’m still considering – proposal! proposal! proposal!
…and I’m also considering of getting a job first; work for a few years and only then continue with my PhD
I’m not sure which option is to my liking 😆
tbh, I did want to get a PhD before turning 25 years old haha – pretty young, isn’t it? 😛
but since I didn’t do PhD last year, it’s impossible now 😦
maybe PhD before 30? haha
either way, I’ll see how things go 😉
anyway! done mumbling 😛
I promised NG that I’d post up my MSc Project – Energy Efficient VOIP that I did – I got a distinction in that, so hopefully it gives some hints to other people that are of the same field as me; in their undergrad or postgrad 😉
I’ll also explain a bit of my BEng Project – Enterprise Network Simulation where I managed to get a 1st Class Hons the year before
– I won’t talk about how the network works yadda yadda yadda but only on the ways of implementation 😉
pstttt I’m not trying to brag here; just to let you know that I did get pretty good marks in my projects so you can take my words for it; or even apply some stuffs that I did in here to your project (if it’s related)
do take note that I said in the video, for MSc, you need something EXTRA that you didn’t talk over with your supervisor. That gives you the extra marks and takes you a level above anyone else and the likeliness to get a better grade – try and impress your supervisor and examiner 😉
for my undergrad project, I managed to do all the if you could do… things that my supervisor said he would like to see if possible
he pointed out things that could be achieved but not ways of doing it – make sure you know how things work for the extra bits as well; I was asked to explain about it during my viva
whenever your supervisor said if you could do… take note of that
that is a hint! 😉
go crack your head open and make sure you can do what your supervisor wants to see – no matter what it takes; you’ll get good grade
here’s the video 😉
p/s: did you catch my grammar mistakes? ehe~ 😛
and take note! it’s not the MAC address but MAC type – I accidentally said the wrong thing lol
Do you like reading novels? hehe
I sort of getting back to that old hobby of mine, READING!
my favourite authors include Tess Gerritsen, Sheila O’Flanagan, Danielle Steel,
Cecelia Ahern and there’s another one which I can’t remember
a few days ago, I came across Oxfam which is a charity based in England and selling second hand books (and other stuffs)
it’s somewhere near Sainsbury, here in Cambridge
and I got myself a book written by Tess Gerritsen – Girl Missing; for £2.99. Not bad since a new book would be £6.99
I have most of the latest Tess Gerritsen’s books; I usually buy her novel right when it’s out – so I was sort of spending a bit too much since usually, the normal size, paperback book would be out a bit later than the hardcover LOL
but I don’t have her older novels as I was broke and ended up borrowing from the public library when I was in London before hehe
anyway, I’ve just finished reading Girl Missing last night and earlier today, I went again to Oxfam for the sake of getting another novel to last me for another few days if I don’t try to finish it within tonight haha
and I got Life Support; I’m not sure if I’ve read it before hrmmmmm~
too bad there’s no other title of hers that is in Oxfam anymore 😦
so, can you guys recommend me any author for thriller novels?
for unknown reason, I can’t stand romance anymore
so I can’t get myself Sheila O’Flanagan books even though her books are so tear jerking! – no joking!
Any thriller authors? 😀
I tried Dean Koontz and Mo Hayder before but the novels just don’t click with me
I’m not sure why hrmmmmm~
Dean Koontz books are okay and just… okay
Mo Hayder is… a bit too much for me lol; I only read Tokyo and I couldn’t finish reading it since I can’t handle it – the storyline is too heavy!
recommend recommend recommend? 😀
A few days ago I was asked this question…
How to become as clever as you?
I was speechless
was that a compliment or an insult?
I take that as a compliment; so, thank you for saying that I’m clever
korang rasa macam nak sepak I tak dgn statement I yg xbley blah ni? ekekekeke~
If you think I’m bragging, being so stuck up… seriously that is not my intention
there are things that you are better than me, obviously! 😉
how I wish I’m one of the top 3 geniuses in this world 😛
if I were, I’d try to get a country of my own or owning the world heeeee~ lolamboiiiii bkn main!
too bad I’m not and I’ve met tons of people who are way much better than me; be it in education, skills, life experience etc etc
during my undergraduate years, there is this one guy whom I think is brilliant!
he just graduated last year as he did an integrated master, MEng. I heard that he’s starting his PhD this October in another uni
good for him, I wish him best of luck since he deserves it! 😉
when I first knew him, I found him annoying; but when I got to know him, I got envy of his brain!
he’s not a show off person, well, I don’t think he was showing off; it was more like… he likes to help and teach other people especially when you ask him to explain some stuffs (or when he thought that you seem to need some help)
I’m an ego person, full with pride; so, being taught without I’m asking for it pissed me off lol
we once had this maths assignment during our first year and incidentally, he saw me in the library and joined me to do it together
I’m okay in maths but I easily forget things – including, if you were talking to me, try asking me what I was saying 5 mins ago, I more likely to have forgotten what I was saying lol
anyway, back to the story…
I was flipping through some books and the lecture notes to refresh my memory but him!
oh my goodness! he could solve it within a minute! It wasn’t a hard question, not that easy either
I was pretty much pissed off; why can he do it while I was still trying to refresh my memory?
that totally woke me up; HELLO ADILA? YOU THINK YOU CAN GET GOOD MARKS WHEN THINGS AIN’T AT THE END OF YOUR FINGERTIPS? DEEP TROUBLE, ADILA!
so I was saying something along this line… “Woah! that was fast! you’ve revised that chapter already?”
and… guess what!
he came to classes prepared; read what the lecturers are going to teach in the next class beforehand and revise what has been taught every single night!
hats down! how many people do that? I bet only 1 out of 100 students would do that! – I didn’t either lol once a week was what I did ehe~
I did worked as a teaching assistant before, assisting the 2nd year students in Software Engineering subject
…a lot of students didn’t read the lab sheet beforehand, didn’t try to understand what was required and didn’t bother to try things out
I was once asked to explain what the lab sheet was about to them when they didn’t take the initiative to try it themselves
worse, there were students whom only bother to understand the content of weeks of the lab sheets at the end; when it was nearer to their assignment deadline
is that the attitude to get excellent mark? YOU’RE SO DEAD. PERIOD!
I can’t sit the exams for them, right?
I don’t know about genes or whatnot but I am certain that no one is good in something without putting any effort in it
do you think it’s fair when someone tells that friend of mine, OMG YOU’RE A GENIUS! when the truth, he worked his ass off every single day, cramming things into his brain until he can know things without flipping the books anymore?
if you have the drive, motivation and aim, InsyaAllah you will succeed
if you don’t succeed, that just means you didn’t put enough effort
does it make sense to fail in something when you have worked extremely hard? NO!
…well, things could happen unexpectedly
anyway, I just wanted to show off some graduation photos of my fellow friends that I took in July ehe~
the above story was just as a reminder and advice to those who think that they can’t get good results because they are not born as a genius 😛
this friend of mine is also going into PhD starting this October or was it in January? lol
brilliant guy 😉
and oh, this is not the guy I was talking about previously
btw, the graduation for my uni this year was at Westminster which is so near to the Parliament, London Eye and Westminster Abbey
totally the best location for photos! 😉
here are some photos that I finally had my hands on 😛
SHINee’s fan anyone?
I do like their songs and the clumsy, aDORKable Onew heeeeeeee~
I was bored and had too much free time (not really, but I just wanted to slack off hehe) so I ended up with this!
It’s not a new piece; I was working on it on the day I arrived in Malaysia… an hour before my flight to Alor Setar haha
yes yes, I was doing the line art and painted the eyes at KLIA =.=
that showed how bored I was 😛
It’s not completed yet; still need more touch up to be done
and… I might leave the hair part till the end since I’m bad in it lol
here’s how I did it
… I talked in such a confusing manner LOL
hopefully it makes sense xD
and here’s the result of the work in progress up till the end of the video 😉
I’m not sure when I’ll be finishing this heeeeeee~
The whole processes which you can see from the video took me nearly an hour 😛
take note that I’m not done yet with the lips part since I’ve forgotten how to do it properly, so I need to refer to some tutorials lol
…while you’re at it, be a fan of Noradila Photography
it has been a while since I last take proper pictures of people – errr not really?
I took some photos of my friend graduation back in… July which I haven’t post the photos here yet
I haven’t got the time to touch up it a bit; my friend is satisfied with the raw photos when I gave it after the event as I was busy preparing for my MSc project
so I am in no rush for it 😉
either way, I’ll put up some of it in my fanpage some other time soon. I only uploaded a few of it in my facebook album as a preview 😛
aaaaaaaanyway! I went out with my sis a few days ago and finally! I got my hands on my camera after sooooo long abandoning it
sorry baby! I still love you super duper much even though I do want to upgrade to another model teheeeeee~
my bro been using my camera, so I haven’t really gone into snapping non stop mode yet. Soon, I suppose?
Even though Alor Setar is small, there are still a lot of places that would be interesting as the backdrop
there are a few places I have in mind plus some other locations that I’d like to experimenting at, but it all depend on the weather – been raining a lot lately
I was at Alor Setar Mall a few days ago and ended up photoshooting at the Georgetown White Coffee
ohmai~ I love coffee! hazelnut white coffee is just too awesome for words!
I wanted to try cafe photoshoot but well, it’s Alor Setar! as if you could find nice looking cafe that easily
there are some nice one; but not as what I have in mind
maybe I should drive up to Jitra, Sungai Petani or Penang next time?
the photoshoot was only for a few minutes haha – well… test shots to be exact since it has been a while since I last use my 50mm lens to shot portraiture
… the result shots aren’t bad IMO
here goes! 😉
these photos are in my facebook page
alright! done with this post! 🙂
what should I talk about in my next post?
reminiscing of the past maybe? my random digital painting? or new photos from the photoshoot if I have any? heeeeeeeeee~
we’ll see 😉
btw, the postcards that I sent not long ago should have arrived (or maybe sometime this week?)
I’ve received mine yesterday (or was it the day before? gah!)
